Trees

Yes, halfway through reading this you’re gonna think “is this chick high?”, but just hear me out.

People go to the White House, Versailles, Graceland and other historical homes and think of the people who used to live there. They visit Auschwitz and Alcatraz and try to understand the horrible events and people that used to roam those halls; but, do you ever walk by a tree and think of what it’s heard, lived through and witnessed? I don’t mean the tree itself but the trees we see today, the ones we drive by, walk by, lean on, sit under and fly over, have been around for hundreds of years. Jaquelin O. Kennedy walk by this tree, Princess Diana sat under that one, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. rehearsed speeches by one in D.C., John Lennon wrote under one in Central Park. What have the trees heard you talk about? What have they seen you do? How have you noticed them aged, and how have they seen you age? Do you also feel connected to the trees around you?
